Trinity
This painting was commissioned the Bishop of Gloucester for the chapel at Bishopscourt. It is inspired by the ancient Neolithic Irish ‘triskele’ and was used by the early Christians as a symbol of the Holy Trinity - God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Gloucester Cathedral is dedicated to St Peter and the “Holy and Indivisible Trinity”, and I wanted to create an object of freedom and flow that would animate the space and inspire contemplation and worship.
